Transforming Education for Administrators Wiki

Welcome to our class wiki! What is a wiki??

A wiki is a web-based tool that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wikis support 21st century skills because they allow participant to create knowledge in authentic environments. Wikis are great for classrooms and collaborations! We will use our wiki as a place to gather resources, share ideas and information, collect data and also as a model to inspire you to use this technology in your classrooms.

For Wikispaces, educators can get FREE accounts WITHOUT advertisements. Many wikis, blogs and other technologies like this have advertisements on them which we really do not want students exposed to. This is also the reason why some schools block these tools, so make sure you are creating blogs and wikis without advertisements. Here is the link if you want to create your own wiki in Wikispaces without advertisement: http://www.wikispaces.com/site/for/teachers

Anyone who is a member of the wiki can EDIT pages. When you EDIT a page you change the content, add content, contribute or collaborate. When you first see the wiki, you will probably not be a member so you will not be able to edit pages. Later in the course, you will join the wiki and be able to edit and add to some of the wiki pages.

Participants in this wiki are the same as the participants in your course. Some of the pages will have contributions from participants in previous teacher versions of the course so you can see the kinds of ideas and information shared in the teacher course. Then, later, you will contribute to a page along with other participants in your course.
